Inspired during a walk and stumbling upon a simple reflection that became a larger painting, then a crow’s head. At first, I was going to create a singular crow. Then the idea of duality/mirroring emerged - similar to the reflection. Then the idea of a deck of cards came to me. Our family has always played cards during get-togethers. A time to compete, talk, and enjoy each other's company. I am not competitive nor have a long attention span to play in-depth cards. I always found myself looking at the designs of the face cards, then the backs. Enjoying the texture - or not. There are so many types out there.
Playing Cards Card (Poker size 2.5" x 3.5") with a linen finish. The slight texture lets the cards slide smoothly for dealing or card tricks. The paper is 310gsm Casino Card Stock. I researched many playing card manufacturers. These are printed by Shuffled Ink. located in Winter Garden, FL All of their stocks are FSC certified and print with toner rather than ink, allowing their products to be fully recyclable. They also recycle all of their paper waste.
